This Week on Fountain Radio: Longy, Kevin Embleton and Nate Johnivan
Another week, another opportunity to discover new music on Fountain and connect with the artists behind the songs.
Fountain Radio is a new communal listening experience powered by Bitcoin and Nostr. Every week we will be inviting artists to take over the queue and share their music.
To tune in, go to the Discover tab in the Fountain app, or go to our website. Load up your wallet, make sure you have connected Nostr then sit back, enjoy, and boost!
Here’s everything you need to know about this week’s schedule:
Longy (Monday 2 Dec // 12pm EST)
Longy is a songsmith and producer from Southend-on-Sea in the UK. The seaside storyteller is heavy on endurance and calls his own music Gospel Trash. He picked up the guitar because of Buddy Holly, shouts like Little Richard and says he wanted to make music that sounded noisy, raw and that emulated street sounds.
From his days of busking to 500 shows in a year, from breaking his back to chaos in Barcelona, band brawls, tour shambles and fights with promoters, Longy is made of something different.
Listeners on Fountain will best know Longy for his track “The Underclass”, which has been played on countless music shows. Tune in to Fountain Radio today at 12pm EST to hear him share some of the wild stories behind his music.
Kevin Embleton (Tuesday 3 Dec // 12pm EST)
Few singers, these days, resonate with that old kind of earnestness like Kevin Embleton. It’s a passion and a yearning buried deep in the dusty vinyl collections of your parent’s neglected basement.
His music reaches back to the melodies of classic American pop and weaves them into dynamic and arresting songs that breathe like a west coast wind. With three LPs under his belt, Embleton recently relocated from Akron, OH to Nashville, TN to work as an artist, songwriter, and producer.
Tune in to Fountain Radio on Tuesday at 12pm EST to hear Kevin’s selections.
Nate Johnivan (Friday 6 Dec // 12pm EST)
Nate Johnivan describes himself as a middle aged man living in middle America working at a middle class job. He makes music as a solo artist but also plays with other bands including Red Arrow Highway, Monkey Robot War, Death by Lions, Drawing Monsters, Prom and R.a.t.a.h.
Nate has prepared an hour-long takeover where he will share some upcoming albums and singles of his own with voiceover narration. Tune in to Fountain Radio this Friday at 12pm EST to check it out.
